The participants will be able to get a closer look at the following key analysis tools. These fundamental tools are of great importance whether you are cracking a research question or an industrial problem:

1. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM):
Learn the fundamentals of high-resolution imaging, secondary and backscattered electron analysis, and elemental mapping using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).

2. BET Surface Area Analysis:
Understand the principles of gas adsorption and pore size analysis to determine surface area and porosity.

3. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR):
Gain insights into molecular identification and functional group analysis of surfaces.
